Lest We Forget

ANZAC Day occurs on the 25th of April every year.  On this day, we honour all the men and women who have participated in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations around the world, including the ANZACs (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War One. Incredibly, more than 100 years have passed since New Zealand's involvement in that war, and we continue to remember and respect those who travelled to a foreign country to fight for their country and for the British Empire.  On Friday, our school commemorated this day by having a liturgy in the church followed by a ceremony in front of our school's Field of Remembrance.  It was a poignant time for all of us to remember those relatives and members of our community who fought for our freedom.  Lest We Forget.

Our 'Hauora' Transfer Task

Our end of term task was to create a visual record of how we could nurture the aspects of tapa wha which makes up hauora.  We were put into pairs, and using Comic Life, we transferred our knowledge and understanding of hauora into a poster.

Keeping Ourselves Safe (KOS)

TriKids

Sport is about participating, achieving and learning.  TriKids aim is to support children in sport.  The programme is based around triathlon (swimming, cycling, running) for primary aged children and schools.  Motivating and educating children to lead healthy lifestyles, developing fundamental movement skills and confidence through challenges and enjoyment are key aspects of Trikids.  Thanks to Murray (and his team of helpers) for coming to our school and giving us the opportunity to have fun while learning a new sport.
