Surrealism Art

Room 14 has some amazing artists!  Using De Bono's quote, 'There is no doubt that creativity is the most important human resource of all' we looked at some artwork by Marc Chagall based on his work on 'Surrealism'.  The focus was using chalk pastels to create a quirky street scapes and floating objects.  The skills involved included: colour blending, composition and shape.  Special thanks to Mrs. Smith for her guidance and expertise.  Great job, team!!!

WE LOVE READING!!!

Every Thursday, instead of instructional reading, we have been reading to each other.  The benefits of reading aloud have made a difference to our love for and towards reading, especially for those who find reading difficult.

'Reading aloud to children increases their knowledge of the world, their vocabulary, their familiarity with written language, and develops their concepts of print and interest in reading'.

We also read to and with our junior buddies in Room 12 several times a week.
