Hidden Sugar in Treats

The children and I spoke about a recent newspaper article in Saturday's 'Weekend Herald' about the decay risk from liquid treats (i.e., fruit puree, frozen yoghurt, etc) that are in some children's lunchboxes.  We discovered that some of these treats have up to three teaspoons of sugar in them, even though it was advertised with having "no added sugar". This amount of sugar is more than half of the recommended daily sugar intake for children. This in itself is putting children's health (and increasing tooth decay) at a high risk.  We spoke about having these items as a 'treat' verses on a 'regular basis'.  What are your thoughts and views? Great article...great in-depth discussion and thinking!!!
