Self Portraits - My ‘Story’ in Art

Our amazing Mrs. Smith taught the children about self portraits.  They enjoyed the experience of working with soft chalk pastels to produce their happy self portraits.  Chalk pastels are fun to use.  There is a wide colour range and they are perfect for blending.  They can also be challenging as they are very dusty! The quality of the art work speaks for itself.  Special thanks to Mrs. Smith’s patience and passion she exhibits towards this subject.  The work produced by the children is testament to her dedication and high teaching skill level. Tino pai, tamariki and...Mrs. Smith!

Our Cultural Concert and Parade

Last Friday, we celebrated the many different cultures that are part of our school whanau and wider community.  We gathered in our whanau groups and went on a parade celebrating who we are...our culture, our story!  Some children and parents performed their cultural dance, and some even showed us their musical talents.  What an amazing experience...WOW!  Special thanks to those parents/caregivers and children who helped make the afternoon one to remember.

Can you guess which country these costumes belong to?
